Easy Mickey Mouse Lollipop Holder, Cricut Craft

October 29, 2022

(Some links added are Affiliate links. I will receive a small percent of your purchase at no extra cost to you)

This easy Mickey Mouse lollipop holder is sure to be a hit with the kiddies for Halloween. And its (obviously) a Cricut crafts, as stated in the title. So turn on those Cricut’s and lets get crafting.

Supplies needed

  • Cricut (im using the Explore 3, but you can use any machine except the Joy for this project)
  • glue gun
  • card stock ( black, white and blue)
  • smart sticker card stock (optional) this material only works with the Explore 3 and Maker 3
  • Mat
  • scoring stylus

If you want to make a print and cut version, you’ll need:

  • Printer & ink (Im using the Epson Workforce 7720)
  • Glossy photo paper

If you’re more of a visual learner, check out my tutorial on YouTube.

This craft is a ready made project in Design Space. I believe its $3.99 is you don’t have Cricut Access.

As you can see there’s more than one version and you can also find the matching Minnie Mouse version. The full name of the project is “Halloween Mickey Mouse Vampire”. The project comes with a print and cut version and a slightly larger cut version. If you want to make both then just click on “Make It”. If you want to choose one or the other, click on “Customize” to take the project to the canvas.

This is how it’ll look on the Canvas. The larger one is the cut file. As you can see on the right layers panel. You’ll need black (12/12 inches) white and blue ( you can use 12/12 or 8.5/11 inches) the pieces are small.

Once you select which one you’d like to make, select the machine you’re using. At the top of the Canvas, right next to the Green “Make It” option is where you’d choose your machine. Then click “Make It”.

This screen comes up for your Print and cut option. Chose your printer, I always leave the “Add Bleed” option on and then I make sure the “Use System Dialog” option is on as well. This option will bring up your printer options so you can choose the type of tape you’ll be printing on.

This is the System Dialog Screen

This is the screen that comes up once you choose the system dialog option. I choose my printer, then under the medial and quality section I choose which part of my printer I want to tape to come out of. I always choose the Rear Tray because that’s where the thicker paper can print out of. Then I choose Photo High Gloss Paper, and always Best Quality. Then Print.

You will be asked to select your set base material. The machine just needs to know what type of material its cutting so it cuts it well. When Im using anything thicker than 65lb card stock, I choose poster board.

This is how your print and cut page comes out.
This is how youlll line your printed sheet up on the mat.

Now the your page has printed, line it up on you mat and feed it into your machine. Then go.

Just fold the score lines.

The first picture is how your image will cut and the second picture is how you’ll fold the score lines.

If you’re making the cut layers, you’ll do the same with with your card stock when the machine prompts you to.

If you decide to use the Sticker Card stock , when you send your project to cut make sure to choose multiple ways when you’re asked about your mat because the Smart material does not need a mat to cut. You’ll just feed the paper into the machine. (Also, smart material only works with the Explore 3 and the Maker 3)

Then you’ll just cut all three of your material and layer them on top of each other.

This is how they’ll be layered on top of each other.

Assembling them is the easy part. Just slip your lollipop in the cut out then add glue to the ears and press them together. Any glue will work. I use my glue gun for practically anything. But you can use a tape gun, glue pen, or any adhesive of your choice, even elmers glue if that’s what you Have.
