just a passion for crafting and a lot of hard work. Im no where close to where I want to be so its going to take a lot more hard work to get where I want.
So let’s start from the beginning, Ive always LOVED crafting and decorating for events. For most of my life Ive only done it for my family and friends. Most of whom continuously pushed me to start doing it professionally. And eventually I listened.
I made a few decorations, took a picture of them and created an instagram page in 2014. That’s how I announced to everyone that Im officially taking orders. I told everyone I know and they did the same. I connected with a local decorator and she introduced me to some of her fellow decorators. She also tagged me every time she posted my products and that’s how I built most of my clients who are event planners.
Eventually I opened an Etsy shop, then started a Pinterest and face book business page. The key to growing my social media following was posting often, improving my photography skills (which I’m still working on), and engaging with my followers.
I also joined a few crafting facebook groups. Posting often and helping out my fellow crafters, as well as taking their advice also helped to grow my social media following. And here I am now, Im definitely not where I want to be but Ive come very far from where I started.
So, to anyone reading this who’s now starting out and wondering how to grow your social media and your business, here’s my best tips for you: Love what you do, never give up never stop learning, and post as often as possible.
