My Sister is my Valentine DIY T-Shirt

January 15, 2021

Valentines Day is right around the corner and if you’re like me, you do not have a Valentine. LOL

Seriously, this year my sister is going to be my Valentine and Im going to let everyone know by putting it on a shirt. If you’re date less with a spare sister like me then you should add it to a shirt too

Even if you don’t plan on doing it, Im going to show you how to make it anyway.

Supplies Needed:

  • Cutting machine & mat (Im using my Cricut Maker)
  • T-shirt
  • Weeding tool
  • Easy Press or a Heat Press
  • Mat
  • iCreate Ruler
  • Iron on vinyl.
  • Free Valentine’s file ** Down Here**

We’re going to start by uploading the svg file in to design space. Once that’s done, ungroup the image then select all of the black letters and attache them.

  • Ungroup
  • Attach

Highlight the entire image and Group them back together. Now change the width of the file to about 9 inches or to the size of your liking.

The best way to figure out the size is to use the measuring tape to see how big you would like it. Then SAVE. Always save before you send to cut so you don’t lose any of the work you’ve done.

When cutting htv, place the shiny side down and MIRROR your images.

Set your machine to cut Everyday Iron On. Once your mirrored layers are cut, you’re going to weed your vinyl.

Set your easy press to 315 degrees and 30 seconds. Lay the mat down and the shirt on top of the mat. Take the easy press and iron out the shirt for 5 seconds. Just to get the wrinkles out and to warm up the shirt a little.

Use the I-Create Ruler to measure how far from the neckline you would like to place your words. The ruler also helps you make sure your design is straight.

Place all of your design exactly where you would like it, then a piece of butcher paper on top of the design then lay the easy press on top of that. Press start then hold for the 30 seconds recommended. Let it cool for a few seconds and remove the clear sheet.

Once you pick up the easy press, let it cool for a few seconds then you can peel off the top film.

And now we single ladies are ready for Valentines day with our sisters. I love this design because my sister and I are really close.

Would you wear this shirt? Are you going to try to make it? Let me know.
