Welcome to the world of personalized gifting, where creativity meets technology! In this step-by-step guide, we’ll explore how to make a dazzling gift box using the versatile Cricut machine and glitter cardstock. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a novice, this tutorial is designed to help you craft a unique and memorable gift box that will leave a lasting impression. Let’s dive into the world of DIY gift-giving!

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

Before you start, make sure you have all the necessary materials:

  • Cricut machine
  • Window Gift box svg
  • 1 12/12 in. Printed or plain cardstock
  • Glitter cardstock
  • StandardGrip cutting mat
  • Scoring stylus or scoring wheel (the scoring wheel only works in the Makers)
  • Adhesive (double-sided tape or glue gun)
  • Ribbon or other embellishments
  • Your chosen gift item (optional)

Step 2: Choose Your Design

Head over to the the craftprintshop.com to get the treat box file that we’re using. Then we’re going to upload it into Design Space.

Once the file is uploaded. Ungroup the project and separate the pink layer from the blue.

Now you’re going to Select the layer with just the score lines. Go over to the Operation Panel (top left of the screen) and choose “Score”. This will change the layer from a cut line to a score line. Then the last step is to attach the score lines to the box.

Step 3: Prepare and Load Glitter Cardstock

Place your glitter cardstock onto the cutting mat. Ensure that the material is securely attached to the mat to prevent any slips during the cutting process. Adjust the settings on your Cricut machine to match the specifications for glitter cardstock.

The embossed cardstock I purchased from Michaels is pretty thick so I chose the Glitter cardstock setting for both pieces of paper.

Now send your card stock to cut. If you want to decorate the box with images. You can upload and do a print then cut of the images you want. Ill show an example at the end.

Step 4: Cut

Let the Cricut work its magic! Make sure to put your scoring tool in the machine and choose the correct setting. (Only when using the maker do you have the option to select which scoring tool you’re using) Once the cutting is complete, carefully remove your cardstock then get ready to assemble.

Step 5: Assemble Your Gift Box

Now comes the fun part – assembling your gift box! Follow the design’s instructions to piece together the various elements. Use adhesive to secure the edges and create a sturdy structure.

This is the end result. The cutest box you ever did see. lol

Step 6: Add Finishing Touches

Enhance the visual appeal of your gift box by adding embellishments like ribbon, bows, or even more glitter accents. These finishing touches will elevate your creation and make it truly one-of-a-kind. Adding images can help as well. You can choose images in Design Space, Etsy, or Creative Fabrica.

I found some cute Pink Christmas images on Creative Fabrica. And I used glossy cardstock from Pretty Party & Crafty.

Imported them into Design Space. I put them on top of the box designs to see what size I need them to be. I change the amount to two because Im going to layer them on top of each other. Then send them to print.

You can use foam squares to layer the two images together then put them around the box.

Conclusion: Crafted with Love

Congratulations! You’ve successfully crafted a stunning gift box using your Cricut machine and glitter cardstock. The combination of technology and creativity has resulted in a personalized gift that reflects thoughtfulness and care. Experiment with different designs and colors to create unique gift boxes for every occasion. Your recipients will appreciate the effort you put into making their gifts extra special. Happy crafting!
