Have you ever thought about how you could add a personal touch to a casual get-together, children’s party or special event this Halloween? One creative idea that’s easy, cost-effective, and adds a unique charm to any event is the use of customized chip bags. Not only are they functional, but they also serve as conversation starters, making your event more memorable. In this blog post, we will guide you through the process of assembling your free printable halloween chip bag.
Supplies Needed:
- Free chip bag file
- Printer (any printer will do, Im using my Epson ET 16600)
- Glossy card stock or glossy sticker paper
- Crimper (optional)
- Zig Zag scissor (optional)
- Glue gun or double sided tape (if you’re not using the sticker paper)
What you can add to the chip bags
What makes these chip bags special is the ability to personalize them according to your event’s theme or your personal preference. While the name suggests that they are chip bags, they are not limited to just holding chips. You can add candy, small toys, or even small trinkets that go along with your event’s theme. The options are limitless, and the element of surprise when your guests open their bags will surely bring smiles to their faces.
Getting Started: Download the File
The first step in creating your customized chip bags is to download the free printable chip bag file that we have prepared for you. This file serves as the base design for your chip bag. It is designed in a way that makes it easy to print and assemble, even for those who are not particularly crafty.
Head over to my resource library to grab your free file. If its your first time and dont have access to the password, just sign up HERE to my mailing list and it’ll be sent to you.
Printing and Assembling the Chip Bag
After downloading the file, the next step is to print it. You can use any standard printer to print the chip bag design. (Im using my Epson ET 16600) We recommend using a high-quality paper to ensure that the bag is sturdy and durable. You can use a glossy cardstock or a glossy sticker paper. I get both papers from Pretty Party & Crafty. Once you have printed the design, the assembly process begins. The process is straightforward, and before you know it, you’ll have a bunch of personalized chip bags ready to be filled with treats!
Im using glossy photo paper.
Once its printed out, I peel off a strip from the top and the bottom and also one side. (see pic below). Then flip it over and press that one side that you peeled on to the others side, so you’re selling the back of the bag.

Next, you’ll press the bottom go the bag together. (and this is why I like using sticker paper). Then you’ll add your items. It can be chips, candy, or toys.

Now the next steps are definitely up to you. You can trim off the white part and leave it or you can use a crimper and the zig zag scissors to give it more a chip bag look.

And that’s a Wrap!
Creating chip bags is a fun and unique way to add a personal touch to your events. It is a simple process that anyone can do, and the end result is definitely worth it. So, why not try it for your next event? Download the free printable chip bag file, print it, assemble it, and start filling it with your choice of treats. You’ll be surprised at how much your guests will love this personal, creative touch!
