Creating the Halloween Gift Box

Once you purchase the svg file, you’re going to upload it into Design space. I usually change the size of the box to 9.7 in width. That to make sure the box can be cut on 8.5/11 piece of card stock. If you’d like your box to be a little larger you can have the dimensions the way you’d prefer.

Once you’ve decided on your size, bring a square on to the canvas. Ungroup the box but dont move it. Make it into a small rectangle that fits at the bottom of the op0en part of the box .(see pic above) Then you’re goning to make 3 offsets on the imager you’re using. Im using some little girls I found in design space and added candy corns to their hair and earrings. (See tutorial here). The last offset layer you’re going to lay right above the rectangle. Weld those three pieces tougher. It will turn black but you can change the color back to pink.
Then all of the lines that are there that you ungrouped, change those to score lines. The option to do that is at the top left of the canvas, titles operation. Now the you have your score lines, high light everything and attached them. The attach option is at the bottom right of the canvas.

Noe youre going to create two rectangles that fit in the center of the front panel of the box. Make sure the make them two different colors. (any colors) This will assure that they cut on tow separate mats. You’ll cut one on the acetate sheet and the other on your pattern card stock. You can also use glitter card stock or just plain if you prefer.

Save your projects then send everything to cut. You can print the image on glossy card stock. And choose your settings according to the pager you choose. For the glossy card stock you can keep it not he glitter card stock option.

Now that you have your cut pieces, you’re going to fold all of the score lines on the box. You can also use a folding bone to make sure your folds are sharp.

With the double sided tape, you’re going to adhere the printed card stock piece on the panel behind the window panel. Then use the double sided taper to put the acetate sheet behind the window panel.

Time to layer. Use the foam squares to layer the cut pieces. When you’re glueing the layer on to the glitter card stock use hot glue because the glitter can loosen up the stickiness on the foam squares. Then you can glue the complete thing on the top of the box. I use the foam squares to put them on the box for added depth.

Th last step is to put the double sided tape on the small flap to close the box. If you’re shipping these boxes, then dont remove the tape. Ship them with the one side of the tape on it. This will make shipping easier because they can ship flat and multiple can fit in a thin package. The bottom of the box closes really easily. And that is all y’all. the box is complete and so cut. You can fit a pair of glasses, small toys or even candy inside of them.

I look forward to seeing your creations. Make sure to tag me so I can share in the joy of what your made.
