Cricut Infusible Ink Coasters

October 24, 2019

Supplies Needed:

  • Cricut Maker or an Air
  • Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet (full set)
  • Cricut Infusible Ink Coaster
  • Cricut Easy Press Mat
  • Cricut easy Press2 (Small)

I know a lot of people believe Infusible Ink is hard to use but Im telling you its really easy. The colors are so vibrant, youre going to be so impressed once you’ve made these coasters.

We’re going to start from the beginning, in Design Space. On the left of the screen, click image, then type in “Coaster” and choose which design you would like.

I chose “Support Day Drinkin” and “Drinks on Me” in the square shape. All of the coaster files are already sized to the Cricut coasters, so no measuring needed. So now all we have to do is choose our Machine (top right of the screen) Im using the Maker and send to cut.

DO NOT FORGET TO MIRROR YOUR IMAGES. This is the most important step when using Infusible Ink. The option to do so will be on the left side of the screen right under the image of your mat.

The type of material to choose is “Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets”.

Im using the Watercolor Splash pattern. Regardless of which pattern you use, they must be placed on the mat patterned side facing up. Im using the green mat.

Load it in to your Cricut and cut.

Now its time to weed your design, which basically means peel off the pieces that aren’t being used. I didn’t use the weeding pool because this material is a little harder that regular vinyl sheets. I just peeled them off manually.

Clean off your coaster with the small square paper provided. Place one of the carrier sheets on top of the easy Press Mat then the coaster goes on top of that.

Place your design (face down) on top of the coaster.

with the design that fills up the full coaster, Cricut has a heat resistant tape that you can use but I used washi tape to help it stay in place because I couldn’t find mine.

Then you lay the butcher paper on top. (which comes in the box)

The Easy Press 2 needs to be set at 400 degrees. You can do that by turning it on then pressing the button with the themometer then continually pressing the + button until you get to 400.

The button with the clock on it is used to change the amount of time needed, which we will set to 60 seconds.

If you have the first Easy Press, set it to 400 degrees and 120 seconds.

Once the press has heated up to 400 the signal will turn Green. Place the press on top of the coaster (covering the entire design) Press the button to start the count down and leave it there. No pressure needed. Once the 30 seconds (or 60 if you’re using the original Easy Press) is done, remove the press. Be very careful, the Coaster will be extremely hot. Let the coaster cool down then peel off the paper and you’re done.

You can rest hot and cold drinks on them and spilling a liquid on it won’t damage it at all.
