St. Patricks Day is right around the corner and like a lot of non Irish people, I enjoy celebrating the day.
I created this StPatricks Day cupcake topper svg as an easy and fun DIY project that can be enjoyed by all ages.
Crafting is a great activing but its even better when your crafting up a project that pairs with a sweet treat.
Supplies Needed:
- Cutting Machine & Mat (Im using the Cricut Maker for this project)
- glue gun
- Glitter card stock (gold and green)
- Lolli pop sticks
- St. Patricks Day SVG
Lets get started by downloading the free svg then uploading into to whichever program you use. I use Cricut’s Design space for all my craft projects.
Once you upload you will see the file has two pieces. Your background circle and your 4 leaf clover.
Add them to your Canvas then its time to get started.
Now you’re going to change the 4 leaf clover green (to assure that they cut on separate pages). Then change the width to 1.5 inches.
The circle gets changed to 2.5 inches. This is just a suggestion. You can make them any size you like. Thats the best part about DIY craft projects, you tailor them to your liking.
Once you’ve changed your sizes and color, send your project to be cut. If you’re using the Cricut Maker then you can choose Glitter Cardstock. If you’re using the Cricut Explore Air, you can cut on poster boards or change the dial to custom settings then choose glitter card stock.
Im using the green mat to cut.
Once all of your pieces are cut, its time to glue them together. If you’re crafting with children, then can peel the pieces off the mat and you use the glue gun to put them together.
Place a dab of glue on the clover, then stick it to the gold circle. Then you add a small amount of glue to the lollipop sticks and put your cupcake topper on that. And just like that, we’ve made our very own DIY St. Patricks Day cupcake toppers. You can make as many or as little as you like. You can also cut hem larger to make decorations for an event.
I hope you enjoyed this project. I also have a list of 19 other free St. Patricks Day files from some of my talented crafty friends.
