#1 MOM Cake Topper

April 16, 2021

Mothers Day is right around the corner. And there’s no one that needs to be celebrated more than mom.

One of the most popular crafts right now are multi-layered toppers. And this one is super easy to make and we all know some paper crafts can be a little difficult.

Supplies Needed:

–Cutting machine & mat (Im using my Cricut Maker)

  • Cutting machine & mat (Im using my Cricut Maker)
  • Card stock (5 colors)
  • Glue gun and sticks
  • Foam squares
  • candy stick or acrylic stick
  • FREE SVG

So lets get started. First you need to choose your color combination. This file has 5 layers, Im going with gold glitter, pink, white, mint green and yellow.

Upload the file (above) then you can change the layers to the colors that you prefer.

Ungroup the layers then place them all on top of each other.

Now, group them all together again then change the size to what you would like it to be. I usually make my cake toppers 6-7 inches in width. Thats all the designing you need to do

Send your design to cut. I use the green Cricut mat and the cutting settings are on Medium Carstock 80 lbs. The paper I using is 65lbs but you can use a heavier card stock. Actually the heavier the better, 100lbs or 110lbs paper would be create. It makes the cake topper more durable.

Once your layers are cut add the foam squares to the back of all layers except the largest layer.

Layer them all on top of each other.

The stick for the cake topper can be candy stick or an acrylic stick. Just add some glue to your stick and add it to the back layer of your topper and you’re DONE.

This is seriously one of the easiest DIY cake toppers you’ll ever make. And to make matters even better I have a bunch of other easy to make Mothers Day craft projects for you.
